Introduction
The Porsche 911 4S Coupe is one of the most iconic sports cars of all time, and the 2016 model is no exception. This classic rear-engine sports car has been slightly updated with modern features and technology, making it a true driver’s car. I’ve owned 5 Porsche 911’s and the 991 is my favorite. The last of the naturally aspirated 911’s with an amazing exhaust note that one can only experience in the NA Porsche.
Starting with the exterior, the 911 4S Coupe boasts a sleek, classic aerodynamic design that’s subtle and doesn’t turn too many heads. The wide stance and short overhangs are hallmarks of the 911, and the 4S model adds a bit of extra aggression with its larger, wider wheels and aggressive 911 turbo like front and rear bumpers. The car is available in a variety of colors, including classic Porsche shades like Guards Red and Carrara White, as well as more unique hues like Miami Blue and Agate Grey. I opted for the classic GT Silver and Agate Grey Metallic
Under the hood, the 2016 Porsche 911 4S Coupe is powered by a 3.0-liter flat-six engine that produces 400 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque. This engine is paired with Porsche’s 7-speed manual transmission or their 7-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic, both of which offer lightning-fast shifts and excellent performance. The 4S also features Porsche’s all-wheel drive system, which provides superb handling and traction in all weather conditions.
Pros & Cons
Comfort and Controls
The interior of the 911 4S Coupe is just as impressive as the exterior. The sport seats are incredibly supportive and comfortable, and the high-quality materials used throughout the cabin are a testament to Porsche’s attention to detail. The center console is dominated by a large touchscreen display, which houses the car’s infotainment system and offers access to a range of features, including navigation, music streaming, and hands-free calling. The 4S also comes with a number of driver aids, including an optional rearview camera making it easier to drive in a variety of conditions.
On the road, the Porsche 911 4S Coupe is a true pleasure to drive. The engine provides plenty of power, and the 7-speed manual transmission offers a level of engagement that’s simply not possible with an automatic. The all-wheel drive system provides excellent grip and handling, making it easy to drive the car hard on winding roads or the racetrack. The suspension is firm and well-tuned, offering excellent body control and a smooth, compliant ride over rough roads.
TD Digital Overall
In conclusion, the 2016 Porsche 911 4S Coupe is an excellent sports car that offers a blend of classic design, modern technology, and outstanding performance. Whether you’re looking for a fun daily driver or a track-focused sports car, the 911 4S is sure to deliver. If you’re in the market for a classic sports car that combines timeless style with modern technology, the Porsche 911 4S Coupe is definitely worth considering.
